This Easter Sunday I want to remind the world as RHE did in 2014f that “God is not a man. God is not white. God is not American.”
Don’t let the Easter story be hijacked by ideas about God’s sex or gender. God transcends and includes masculine, feminine, and transgender qualities.
Don’t let the Easter story by hijacked by racism. God transcends and includes Black, White, Indigenous, Asian, Hispanic, and People of Color.
Don’t let the Easter story be hijacked by American Christian Nationalism. God transcends and includes all nations, ethnicities and even religions.
God loves every human being from time immemorial to infinite and beyond.
The Easter message is that God is love.
Love loves everyone.
Love transcends and includes.
Love is for ALL and always.
Love never gives up, never ends, and never fails.
Love is unconditional.
Love is the beginning, middle and end.
The truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Let love flow like a river and flood the earth.
Love is not limited to those who have faith.
Easter is about love having enough faith for all of us, to live and die and resurrect as one of us, with us, and for us.
